The Russian Embassy in Stockholm just today received this email query with a slightly new approach...
I have a question i would appreciate if i could get some help answering. I have a friend in Russia and she tells me that to travel to Sweden she needs to have 1000 Euro on her person to be allowed to travel to Sweden. She says that its a Russian law to protect its citizens so that they have money to take care of themself.
Is this true, does a Russian citizen need 1000 Euros on her to be allowed to travel to Sweden ?
Thank you !'
The answer is 'of course f***ing not, why would there be a 'Russian law' for this. Actually, I believe they even restrict how much money you're allowed to take out of the country (throwback to the 90s when the oligarchs swindled the Russian state out of billions). Obviously the Schengen countries expect a healthy bank account (and a current job) before they grant a tourist visa.
I advised the Embassy to forward a link to this website to the gentleman for more advice.
Happy scam baiting!!
My dear friends.
You that have become crazy, I know this girl, and it not to whom bad has not made, she searches for simply happiness, and you to it stir.
You can answer why???
